Oo La La - the Paris leg

So, I blew in to Texas where I watched Sally run around and pack until I was exhausted and she should have been too. Then it was off to the airport and back on a plane. After 8 1/2 hours, 2 meals and three movies we finally made it to Charles De Gaulle airport

in Paris, France where they welcomed us, as you can see, with open arms. (Actually they stared at us and whispered behind their hands.)

Five hours in the airport gave us plenty of time to people watch...and man was that some watching! Then Jay finally arrived and took us to our hotel. It was pouring rain and very cold
but it didn't slow us down from taking a 125 euro cab ride and finally seeing, yes there it is, the Eiffel Tower! And it was so worth the rain and the cab ride and the plane ride. It truly was awesome!

I have always thought how romantic it would be to stand in the glistening rain, in Paris, in front of the Eiffel Tower with the man of my dreams...and....here I am!

Jay, of course, couldn't wait to find some decent food. He was thrilled when we found this little cafe and there on the menu was........Pizza!

The waiter looked like Geraldo Rivera (or so that's what Sally told him) I suppose he kind of did, except for the fact that he was missing his front tooth.

We didn't care, we were in a little cafe, in Paris, at the foot of the Eiffel tour, eating French food, in France!

And oh, what food it was. French onion soup, Cambebert Cheese, French bread (Katie I know you are dying when you read this).

Then it was a cab ride home with Zeno the cab driver (not to be confused with Zena...that would make him a girl as we were informed) and Sally's French lessons from him (I think he charged us extra for that).

Then it was back to the airport, seen here from our hotel window, and on another plane for the next leg of this journey, Greece.

And boy, was that something to talk about.......but that is for the next page. See you soon!
